The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them we control us.

Our brains are amazingly good at remembering the past, but they seem to forget the future as well. The thing is, when we don’t have self-awareness, we don’t even know what our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions are. So all of a sudden, there’s a whole lot of things that you can’t control.
The only thing you can control are your emotions. It’s one of the few tools in your life that not only keeps you from being the one who is doing the wrong thing but it’s also keeps you from trying to control your emotions just by being on autopilot.

All of these movies and shows were either from the past or are related to the past, so people often mention them as if they were made in the past (or, if not made in the past, what the hell is going on in the time loop?) I think the top 10 is more about the “coolness” or “outrage” of them (or, as I put it, “how much of a dumbass I was/am”).
I’m not sure if I have this right, but some of these great TV shows and movies (like The Brady Bunch) were made in the ‘80s or ‘90s. The Brady Bunch are the first and last American sitcoms ever made, while the other movies, like Mad Men and The Godfather, are from the ‘60s.
Well, the Brady Bunch actually was not the first TV sitcom made (though it was the first to be aired on television), but it was the very first made-for-TV movie, and it was also the first movie that was made in a time loop. The Brady Bunch were made as part of a show originally broadcast in the same time slot as the Brady Bunch, and so they were in the same time-loop.
