I love these movies for two reasons: First, they are classic, as they are all based on fantasy, and I love that they keep the theme of this whole holiday season, which is the holiday itself, in my head. The second reason I love these films is that they are a great metaphor for the whole year.

The idea of taking control of our own destiny without having to think about it is the ultimate in control freaks, but it is a far cry from what we are taught in school.
The problem is that we have been taught that there are no limits, that we can do anything we want, and that the real world is just a series of random events that can be dealt with. This is the world of movies and TV that tells us that the mind is an uncontrollable force of action that we are supposed to let go of.
