I was thinking a little about the topic a few days ago, and it was in one of those moments where I felt like I was on a train to someplace new. As I write this, I’m in a new apartment.
For me, the movie theater is a place of escape, a place where movies are shown in the comfort of your own home. Movies are a great way to escape, because they’re not like television where you’re constantly being interrupted by commercials. With movies, you can relax in the comfort of your own home, and no one can tell you to go away.
Of course, not every movie theater is a good place to escape from reality. In fact, most of them are just as boring as you think they are. Just because your movie theater is new doesn’t mean it isn’t still a place you want to escape to. I mean, the new theater that opened in my neighborhood three months ago has a nice floor to ceiling window that lets in natural light and a beautiful art deco design.
In the days of Hollywood blockbusters, the actors, directors, studios, and producers were responsible for the quality of the film. But now that’s all over, and we don’t even have that anymore. In a world where the only thing we care about is the quality of our own movies, it’s easy to get carried away. But you won’t be able to get away from the cinema anytime soon if you’re looking for a new movie theater.
So what does a new movie theater look like? Well, most are basically the same. If youre looking for a new theater, youre probably looking for an old one. I dont know anything about movie theaters in Chicago, but a new one here could be in a shopping mall or a bank.

I guess this one is for those who want to see the best of what a theater has to offer. I mean, you can’t always rely on what a rental theater has to offer. When a theater is new, its probably pretty expensive (if you’re lucky). Now when its old (and I mean old in the sense of being more than 50 years old), its probably going to be much less expensive.
The big problem with movie theaters is that they’re old. But I mean, its like watching movies from the 80s. There are newer things, but they’re not actually newer. The old movie theater is still a place where people go to see the movies they remember from the 70s, or the 80s, or even the 90s. That’s why you rarely see a theater that’s brand new. It’s not because they’re cheap, but because they’re old.
The problem with theaters is that they are expensive and are very old. But I could see theater owners going into this situation with their old films and saying, “We need to keep these old movies, theyre so old, but theyre worth a decent price.” It doesnt make sense to make old movies, but maybe you could have a “restoration” project where you take these movies and make them modern. Maybe you could make them into a museum in a few years.
