NATIONAL SPORTS DAY: SPORT MOVIES

BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG(2013)

One of the Lifetimes worth watching movies. BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG is a VERY energetic and motivational film. It had shown that for gaining something you have to take the pain. Farhaan Akhtar is an awesome actor and he nailed the role of MILKHA SINGH. Rakesh  Sharma has directed this movie and he is one of the best in business.

CONCUSSION(2015)

One more masterpiece by Will Smith.Great acting, impressive story, and amazing screenplay.

Will Smith delivered yet another top-notch performance, it’s a one-man struggle against brutal authority playing with player’s life, the stronghold of the movie is its strong script, screenplay, performances, direction but most important is the message which is health always wins over wealth.

GOLD(2018)

I would say the movie was patriotic and it indeed showed the hard work of the Indian Hockey Players has done to at least bring 8 Olympic Gold medals for our nation. The movie is inspired by true events but it’s not entirely true the character of Himmat Singh was loosely based on Balbir Singh Dosanjh, a  legendary player who did 22 goals in just eight Olympic matched he played. It could have been better and showed a more realistic side to audiences to show what hardships he has faced in his entire life as a player /coach with his Olympic Blazer and other memorabilia stolen or whatever misplaced by SAI officials.

Overall, this is the movie competing with the likes of Chak De India. Soorma and possibly Miracle and Coach Carter if one thinks globally.

SULTAN (2016)

It’s a typical masala movie with an inspiring story of a wrestler from Harayana “SULTAN”.Unlike other Salman khan’s movies, the story line up of SULTAN is pretty good, it contains humor, drama, romance, action. You can say it’s a complete package. It’s a love story too, a cute HARAYANVI love story I must say. Salman and Anushka add four moons to this film with their great skills. The direction of the movie is pretty good. One thing I like the most about the movie is the motivational theme it literally gave me goosebumps many times” NEVER STOP FIGHTING”.

MARY KOM (2014)

This movie is wonderful and one of the most beautiful choreographers movies in Bollywood. Realistic heart touching and most-watched story action in the movie. This movie portrayed every struggle and tribulations of the boxer in her life beautifully but with a bit of masala. PRIYANKA CHOPRA and OMUNG KUMAR equally did justice to their characters and direction respectively. What can be greater than this, yet the plot at the end leaves us wanting for more.
