2020 proved to be not so good for new releases. By the time they hit the theatres, they had to shut down due to the pandemic.
Most movies that would have done amazing in theatres barely lasted for a few weeks.
Now that the governments across different countries have eased the lockdown regulations, many projects that had been delayed due to the lockdown are resuming and new projects are seeing the light.
Many major projects are resuming production and we couldn’t be more excited about it.
Here, we are gonna discuss a few movies that are coming to us post lockdown :
Disney’s ‘Mulan’ was all set to hit the theatres in March 2020. Since the pandemic struck, it is now set to release on July 24, 2020.
Mulan was a fan favorite animated classic from Disney. Disney is now all set to remake their classics into live-action and this time, it is going to be much less of a fairytale compared to ‘Aladdin’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’.
The storyline remains the same, where a young woman Hua Mulan pretends to be a man so that she could join the army in Imperial China.
This is going to be Disney’s first theatre release post lockdown.
Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’ was supposed to come to theatres on July 17, 2020, but it got pushed to July 31, 2020.
Not a big difference is it? Christopher Nolan movies have a way of making us go wow with its plot.
Even though ‘Tenet’ is just weeks away from its release, nothing is known about its plot except for what Warner had to say about the movie, that it is “an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage”.
Since it’s Nolan, it sure is going to be a masterpiece.
3) A Quiet Place Part 2
Part 1 of ‘Quiet Place’ came to us in 2018 and was well received by the audience.
It is not often that a horror movie gets a fanbase outside the genre fandom. But ‘Quiet Place’ broke the norms and was received wholeheartedly.
The making of the movie was simply amazing and it kept us on the edge of our seats throughout.
Not only was the idea of aliens hunting by sound frightening, but the makers also touched our hearts by putting an estranged family in between all the chaos.
Part 2 was put back from March 2020 but it is all set to hit the screens on September 4, 2020.
We don’t know much about the direction the second part of this movie is going to take. However, we are sure that it is going to be as frightening and as thrilling as the first one was.
4) The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
After the MCU, The Conjuring movies may very well be the most successful cinematic universe. Having had several spin-offs such as ‘The Nun’, ‘Annabelle’, and ‘The Curse of La Llorona’, we are now back to where it all began.
This time too, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren takes on a brand new mystery. This time, they are investigating a 1981 case of a boy who was possessed, which marked the first time that demonic possession was used as a defense in an American Court.
It’s all set to release on September 11, 2020.
5) Wonder Woman 1984
Wonder Woman 1984 which was set to release on June 2020 will now be released on October 2, 2020.
Fans are quite thrilled with the fact that the movie is getting a much-anticipated sequel. In the first movie, we saw some WW1 heroics, and this time we join princess Diana, played by the gorgeous Gal Gadot in a mid-’80s face off against the new baddies.
Much interest is around Steve Trevor, who in the last movie was shown to have died and has now made it back to ‘Wonder Woman 1984’.
We sure are going to need a lot of answers and hopefully will get them in October.
