Indian Government Approves Movies ‘Article 15’ and ‘Raid’ for State Grant

The Yogi government of UP in recent years has ensured that more and more films are made in Uttar Pradesh. To make sure that, more filmmakers shoot their movies in the state, an incentive is granted by the state government to make film shootings cheaper.

Every year, different movie scripts are chosen from different languages. Hence, A committee is present to judge the best scripts written. In addition to a number of parameters such as cinematography, plot, etc. 

For 2019’s selection, Article 15 and Raid were chosen as the Hindi language movies for getting the state grant. Both of these movies were shot mostly in Uttar Pradesh.

Movies Selected for State Grant

Although Article 15 and Raid were not successful commercially, critics have said that both the movies were made really well.

Both of these movies are made on very important social issues. The movies were not only entertaining the audience but the movies tried to send a social message to the public at large.

Article 15 was actually a movie where a real-life incident was shown of caste-based discrimination in the Badaun district of UP.

The movie is the story of a police officer who tries to get justice for young girls who were kidnapped. Moreover, If you want to see a movie about the crimes that sometimes take place in the villages of India, you should watch Article 15.

It will enlighten you and make you think about the caste-based discrimination that still exists in India. While, Raid is a movie about a real-life incident regarding the longest raid that took place in the house of a Congress MLA in Kanpur in 1981.

The movie exposes the kind of corruption that takes place in India.

If you want to see a thrilling movie about the underground corruption that takes place throughout India, Raid is a must-watch.

Other than Article 15 and Raid, there were some movies as well which received the state grant. However, those other movies were in regional languages.
