Angrezi Medium Review: The tryst between a father and a daughter

The last film of one of the Bollywood’s legendary actor, Irrfan Khan, Angrezi Medium is directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande.

The movie stars Late Irrfan Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepak Dobriyal, and Radhika Madan. Film shot in Udaipur and London.

The movie is available to be streamed on Disney+Hotsar. The theme of the story is a parent’s love for their children.

Angrezi Medium Plot Review

The story of the movie is about Champak Bansal (Irrfan Khan), who runs a small sweets shop in Udaipur, Rajasthan. He often engages in a fight with his brother Gopi (Deepak Dobriyal) who also runs a rival sweet shop nearby. They both love Champak’s daughter Tarika (Radhika Madan).

She has always dreamt of studying abroad. Although Tarika is weak in her studies, Champak has always supported her in her dream. Tarika does hard work and secures a rank in final examinations due to which she gets a scholarship for London’s Truford University. The story of the movie takes a dramatic turn and her scholarship gets canceled from the school. Champak vows to get her daughter to study in London at any cost.

The rest of the story depicts the hard work and efforts Champak has to do in order to send her daughter to London. The movie has many emotional scenes that depict how much hard work parents do so that their children could pursue their dreams. At a point, their financial conditions become so weak, that Champak decides to sell his shop.

The Conclusion

The acting done by each character was truly great. The movie is a must-watch especially for today’s children who don’t think twice before spending money.

Music by Sachin-Jigar and Tanisk Bagchi. The length of the movie is 145 minutes. The movie has also got 7.3/10 on IMDb.
